Mobile Oil Production Systems (EPF)
Mobile Oil Production Systems or Mobile Early Production Facility (Mobile EPF) is designed to separate crude oil from water and free gas in the oilfields, handling flow capacity up to 5000 BOPD. Mobile EPF has several advantages over bulky and complex production systems, such as fast mobility from one well to another, fast oil production, comparatively lower investment cost, fast return on investments, reusability, easy maintenance, convenient and safe operation, completely customizable both during fabrication and after fabrication, and many beneficial features. Mobile EPF may reduce CAPEX significantly, as well as OPEX, because our company supplies in-house designed and in-house manufactured systems, which reduces total purchase cost of the systems.
HC offers both customized solutions and in-house developed designs for mobile production systems. One or more trailers may accommodate several process and auxiliary equipment, such as:
· Inlet manifold with choke valve and ESDV
· Indirect fired heater
· 3-phase production separator
· Surge tank (crude stabilization)
· Crude oil transfer pumps
· Produced water transfer pumps
· Flow meters
· Gas flaring system (KO Drum, Flare stack, Pilot ignition system)
· Produced water surge tank
· Oil surge tank
· Portable crude oil storage tanks
· Portable produced water storage tanks
· Liquids loading system
· Utility equipment
· Piping
· Valves
· Instruments
· Automation and Control Systems
Mobile EPF can provide simultaneous production from many wells, and trucking oil to nearest facility, such as CPF (Central Process Facility), where crude oil additionally separated from free water, free gas and treated (dehydration & desalting). Another solution is to treat crude oil right at the wellsite by equipping system with another trailer mounted system, such as mobile crude oil dehydrator, also known, as Mobile Oil Treater (MOT). HC also offers stationary crude oil treatment plant, which consists of 3-phase separator, heater treater, storage tank and other auxiliary systems.
HC Petroleum Equipment offers flexibility in service and customization, fast and quality customer service, process and mechanical guarantee, immediate and responsive after-sales services. We design and supply considering the client’s expectation both for performance and budget.
Fast-track production trailers for 3000-5000 BOPD may consist of following:
Trailer 1 – indirect fired heater with diesel tank and diesel pump. Other utility equipment may be offered
Trailer 2 – inlet manifold, chemical injection skids, 3-phase production separator, Emergency Shutdown Valves (ESDV), transfer pumps, flow meters, level and pressure control valves, PSVs, utility equipment, instrument air package, control and automation systems.
HC can design systems which can be attached and detached from the trailer base, offering flexibility during system mobilization and operation. Portable/container-type oil and water storage tanks can be designed for 50-60 m3, while semi-fabricated larger tanks are also in HC’s scope of supply. Interconnecting piping can be flanged or quick-opening types, which are connected by hammer unions, also flexible hose can be offered for convenient pipe connecting.
Inlet manifold or production manifold is a special pipe and valve assembly, which facilitate connecting one or more wells to the system. In case of high pressure or for safety measure, choke valve and PSV can be offered as part of the manifold system.
Chemical injection skids are necessary to the system, and inject certain types of chemicals for efficient separation, equipment and piping protection.
3-phase production separator is in the center of any crude oil treatment system. Production separator is designed to handle specific amount of flow rate. Production separator is designed with consideration to feed flow rate, pressure, temperature, composition of the media, sizing requirements, etc. The purpose of the 3-Phase Production Separator is to separate inlet fluids and gases into three phases, gas, oil, water. Special separator internals increase separation gas-liquid and liquid-liquid separation efficiency. HC’s production separators are usually equipped with inlet deflector or inlet pipe, coalescer pack, calming baffles, overflow baffles, mist extractor, vortex breakers, sand jetting system. In oil & gas industry, some operators are used to say 4-phase (IV) separator because of additional function to separate sands, which accumulates in first calming section of the production separator. Separator body is made from special carbon steel, sometimes, H2S-service carbon steel, while detachable internals usually made from stainless steel, incoloy or special alloys. For most cases, stainless-steel just will work fine.
Production separator conducts bulk separation, while few amount of water is still present in crude oil after separation in separator. Mobile dehydrator is designed to remove water form crude oil by applying electrostatic dehydration technology. Dehydrator is a special horizontal vessel, which reminds to horizontal separator (due to the larger settling section size of dehydrator/desalter larger than separator), but consists of certain unique internals, transformer and electrical devices or high voltage system. Before crude is exported, it shall reach pipeline or transport specification, because impurities, water and salt cause damage both for storage equipment and pipelines. HC offers customized desalter & dehydrator systems for EPFs and CPFs.
Produced water is disposed by water treatment system, formation water injection system, or evaporated in special evaporation ponds. To minimize impact on environment, HC also offers water treatment and injection systems as part of EPF system.
To reduce OPEX, HC offers several solutions to covert free/associated gas to fuel gas. The systems is known as fuel gas conditioning, which may consists of gas compression, gas dehydration, pressure reduction and metering. In case of H2S is present in free gas, HC also offers H2S Scavengers, a special convenient gas sweetening system. In case of large amount of NGL-rich gas is flared, HC also offers small and mid-size Flare Gas NGL Recovery Units, which monetizes gas and increases profit from operation. Feel free to contact HC Petroleum Equipment for more information concerning gas treatment and gas processing solutions.
Mobile EPF is also known as Mobile Oil Separator and Mobile Oil Treater (MOT & MOS), a system, which consists of three or four trailers designed to handle 3000-4000 BOPD and reach BS&W of 0.2%. First trailer consists of sand separators, 3P separator, desilter, tanks. Second trailer is utility trailer, which consists of chemical injection skids, power generator, instrument air package, N2 generator, etc. Third trailer accommodates surge tank (crude stabilization), transfer pumps, KO Drum, etc. Forth trailer carries dehydrator with its auxiliary systems. We offer customized solutions for MOT & MOS.
Central Processing Facility (CPF) is another definition of more complex EPF, which is designed to handle larger flow rates of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons, self-sustaining fuel and utility items, and crude-deep treatment equipment. Configuration and size of CPFs vary from country to country, and depends on the client’s specific requirements. HC offers complete engineering and fabrication solutions for CPFs with flow rate up to 20000 BOPD. HC offers equipment and systems, which are skid-mounted and modular, which required minimum site works, and follows philosophy of “plug-and-play”. Feel free to contact HC Petroleum Equipment for technical support and quotation. We would be glad to provide solutions meeting your expectation both for CAPEX and OPEX.
