As part of our ongoing work in the Middle East, HC recently completed the delivery of a pressurized explosion-proof laboratory cabin for a well testing project in the United Arab Emirates. The customer required a compact, reliable, and safe workspace that could be deployed directly at the wellsite, particularly for high-pressure and sour-gas wells. After several rounds of engineering refinement and technical discussions, the customized cabin was successfully fabricated, tested, and shipped to the site.


The delivered unit adopts a fully welded steel structure with an explosion-proof coating, ensuring durability under the UAE’s challenging field conditions, including high temperatures, sand exposure, and H₂S-rich environments. Inside the cabin, the space is organized into two independent sections.

The operation area provides a safe working environment for technicians, featuring adjustable explosion-proof desks and chairs, integrated lighting, and essential communication interfaces.


The equipment area is fitted with an explosion-proof electrical cabinet equipped with a PLC control system, a complete monitoring sensor array, and an emergency power interface. Together, these systems support real-time environmental monitoring and stable operation of field testing equipment.

One of the key highlights of the cabin is its positive-pressure protection system. By continuously supplying clean, dry air at 25–150 Pa, the system maintains a stable positive-pressure barrier that prevents methane, hydrogen sulfide, and other flammable gases from entering the workspace. This design significantly enhances safety for personnel working near sour wells. A pressure interlock mechanism is also integrated to ensure that if sufficient pressure is not established, all electrical equipment will automatically remain in a locked state—preventing unsafe operation and achieving true fail-safe protection.


To meet the customer's deployment needs, the cabin incorporates a modular design that allows rapid assembly, relocation, and expansion. Ventilation openings and air-supply interfaces are pre-installed on the roof, making it easy to connect the cabin to the external air source system once it arrives on-site. This greatly shortens installation and commissioning time and aligns well with the fast-paced testing workflows commonly used in the region.
